Sort of a sad thing to say, but how personal are these letters?

i think it's like tradition

i think wars in the past you would just get a telegram

it's kind of naive to think that everyone in washington signs their own letters
that's why they have that machine - auto something

But that's what the politicians are saying -- they fully expect the Secretary of Defense to sign the letters. As if somehow that makes things better. Someone's still dead!
